Ba Da Bing

Everyone is happy.

Finn is in the northern woods and on the northern waters of Maine, paddling a 22 ft. long canoe that he made (along with 11 other skillful teenagers).  Lucy is camping in the Vermont woods with a group of young women who are, no doubt, as strong and clever as she.

What about Mom?  What does she do with that rarest of rare things:  time alone?

It is called camping, Brooklyn-style.

Enjoy it! That's my kind of camping: a real bed and a real bathroom. No bugs. Sweet.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say no bugs.....I spotted a very large water bug (YUCK) in the zendo last week!

Robyn, have you been here? http://www.brooklyngrangefarm.com/
I just found out about it this morning. I am completely fascinated by it. So much so that I want to go see it. Maybe next year when I make my annual mainland visit, I may have to o see it.

Hey Martina! Yes, I do know about that place...but only recently. It turns out that it is within walking distance from our house - so cool! We went up to the roof and met the chickens and everything. I try to get to their little market on Wednesdays. So if you come.......

sounds wonderful, robyn. have a great time!

p.s. water bugs are just a special part of brooklyn! we used to get some monster ones in our ground floor apartment on prospect place :) i never wanted to touch them. i just left them alone to scurry away to their lairs. sometimes the cats would "play" with them. poor dears. cats can be so cruel. but they often fared better than the mice.
